Michael B. Jordan joins Dane DeHaan in teen sci-fi thriller “Chronicle”

Sci-fi thriller “Chronicle” has apparently completed casting on its trio of leads, as Variety reports that relatively unknown young actors Michael B. Jordan and Alex Russell have joined Dane DeHaan in the Fox project.

The story centers around three Portland teenagers who are exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods and subsequently develop superpowers. They begin to work together to hone their new skills but soon find themselves turning on each other. Though Variety doesn’t specify, presumably DeHaan, Jordan and Russell will play the teenagers. Fox bought the Max Landis script last August and Josh Trank, who will be making his directorial debut, will shoot the film documentary style in the vein of “Paranormal Activity” or “Cloverfield”.

Jordan (no relation to that basketball player you may have heard of) was a series regular on the last two seasons of critically acclaimed NBC series “Friday Night Lights” and recently completely filming indie “Red Tails”. Russell only has a few small indies under his belt – mostly in his native Australia, including the buzzy “Wasted on the Young” and shark attack thriller “Bait” opposite “Twilight” star Xavier Samuel. “Chronicle” will mark his American studio debut.

Michael B. Jordan Reads Across America

You may remember cutie Michael B. Jordan as knuckle head baby drug dealer Wallace on The Wire or Erica Kane’s stepson Reggie on All My Children, but as his career continues to blossom, he’s also added taken on the title of role model.

Jordan, who currently stars on NBC’s hit Friday Night Lights took some time out recently to participate in the “Guest Reader/Read Across America” program, which promotes literacy and a love of reading with the help of celebs in sports, entertainment and politics.

If you're a "new" Tristan fan, you might want to check his earlier work from The Wire on HBO on DEMAND. The entire fourth season is on there, be sure to check that out because he did an excellent job. All the of the boys did an excellent job.

Friday Night Lights Picks Up 4 Emmy Nominations

Outstanding Lead Actor in a  Drama Series: Kyle Chandler.  He’s up against Michael C. Hall, Hugh Laurie,  Matthew Fox, John Hamm, Bryan Cranston

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Connie Britton.  She’s up against Kyra Sedgwick, Glenn Close, Julianna Margulies, Mariska Hargitay, January Jones

And the show got: Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Casting in a Drama Series


It should have also got a nod for Best Drama Series instead of True Blood.

The Wire's Michael K. Williams in HBO's new series Boardwalk Empire

HBO is like the Disney Channel, they love recycling their actors, and I love them for that because they have the best ones.

Michael Kenneth Williams, the actor behind Omar, will be lending his talents to Boardwalk Empire, the upcoming series from HBO. He plays Chalky White, the de facto mayor of Chickenbone Beach, Atlantic City's black section. "Like" Boardwalk Empire for more info on Williams and the new series.

Yeah so the "rumor" was right. They are shooting reshoots in San Francisco this week. This is a pic Michael uploaded to his Facebook page.

Earlier today Tristan did an "alter ego" photoshoot with Derek Blanks. I believe this is the same guy who has worked with The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Kim Porter (Diddy's girlfriend). They got Tristan looking like Carlton Banks hahaha, but Dixon doesn't dress like that. Then they got him dressing like his regular self, and Mike wouldn't have his sleeve rolled up. I still can't wait to see how this is gonna turn out though.
